We employ the following staff on various shifts:

 

 - Senior Carers, experience required and NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent to run the floor and assist with home management.

 - Carers, both experienced (NVQ 2 and 3) and those who are new to the role (days, nights and weekends)

 - Domestic Staff - for Cleaning (days and weekends)

 - Maintenance (days and ad hoc)

 - VACANCIES- Bank Care Staff - a flexible approach to working - when we have a shift available on an ad hoc basis e.g covering holidays we contact our bank staff and you have the choice of whether you take it or not.  Suits experienced carers.  You have the choice and we DO NOT require a restrictive contract to be entered - so none of the hazards of a 'zero hours contract'

 

Hours

Most staff need to be available to work weekends on a rota basis, but we can usually work with you to find the hours you would like to work.  Our day shifts are generally 7.30 a.m. till 2 p.m., 2 p.m. till 9 p.m. and 9 p.m. till 8 a.m. for the night shift.  Kitchen and Domestic staff may work slightly different hours.  Shift times may change to suit the needs of our residents from time to time.

 

We also employ staff on a 'Bank' or ad hoc basis to fill any gaps as and when we need.

Training

We offer individually tailored training programmes to all levels and members of staff to ensure you have the knowledge to work to your best abilities, get real satisfaction from your job and have the skills and knowledge to look after our Residents like you would wish to be looked after if you were living at The Towans.  Some training is mandatory which means you must attend in order to continue employment with us for example, Health and Safety.
